Baterías, MGU-h, MGU-K, Centralita de control forman el ERS.
El ERS junto con el ICE (unidad de combustión) forman la unidad motriz.
Solo se permite a cada MOTORISTA homologar una unica unidad motriz (ERS+ICE)
Un motorista es el que hace motores, y puede ofrecerselos hasta a 3 equipos (o alguno más si los demás lo aprueban)
Un competidor ha de indicar en su ficha quien es su motorista.
El nombre del motorista va junto con el nombre del equipo.
Hay 3 motoristas: Mercedes, Ferrari y Renault.. y por tanto, solo hay 3 unidades motrices homologadas.
Apendice 4 de las Sporting regulations:
2. A manufacturer may homologate no more than one specification of power unit.
3. The supplier of an homologated power unit and/or the teamusing the homologated power unit must take and/or facilitate such steps as the FIA may at any time and in its absolute
discretion determine in order to satisfy the FIA that a power unit used at an Event is indeed identical to the corresponding power unit delivered to and held by the FIA.
4. The FIA, in consultation with the TWG and the power unit suppliers, will from time to time issue indicative information as to the tests and inspection procedures to be applied
MANUFACTURER / POWER UNIT SUPLIER en contraposición a "TEAM USING.." /competitor
Cada competidor/equipo, puede colocar las baterías donde desee.. dentro de la celda de seguridad.
Puede colocar la centralita de control donde quiera..junto con las baterías.
Pero el resto.. va según el motor homologado por el motorista.
Turbo, Mgu-K, MGU-h, Motor... Es un conjunto que funciona como un todo.
- Solo puede haber 1 unidad de potencia homologada por Motorista.
- Aunque puede re-homologarse una nueva unidad, solo puede haber una homologada a la vez.
(se se re-homologa una nueva unidad motriz, hay que dejar de usar la vieja)

1.23 Engine
The internal combustion engine including ancillaries and actuator systems necessary for its proper function.
1.24 Energy Recovery System (ERS) :
A system that is designed to recover energy from the car, store that energy and make it available to propel the car and, optionally, to drive any ancillaries and actuation systems necessary for its proper function.
1.25 Motor Generator Unit - Kinetic(MGU-K) :
The Kinetic Motor Generator Unit is the electrical machine mechanically linked to the drive train as part of the ERS
1.26 Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H):
The Heat Motor Generator Unit is the electrical machine linked to the exhaust turbine of a pressure charging system as part of the ERS.
1.27 Energy Store (ES) :
The part of ERS that stores energy, including its safety control electronics and a minimal housing
5.8.1 With the exception of incidental leakage through joints (either into or out of the system), all (and only) the fluids entering the compressor inlet must exit from the engine exhaust system
PU exhaust system from the engine exhaust flange up to but not including the turbine or wastegate exit tail-pipe:
1.22, forma parte de la power unit
5.3.4, debe ir en el espacio indicado por normativa para el motor
5.4.1, forma parte del peso minimo del motor

b) Any coating whose primary purpose is for thermal insulation of the [u]outside of the exhaust system[/u]
5.18 .1 All components of the power unit exhaust system, (from the engine exhaust flange up to and including turbine housing or waste-gate exit housing) that are in contact with the main exhaust gas flow must be manufactured from a Cobalt, Iron or Nickel based alloy. Any gaskets or seals are excluded from this restriction.
Es decir, el material (tubo) que va en contacto con los gases de escape (el tubo) ha de ser hecho en determinados materiales. (aleaciones de cobalto, hierro o niquel)
Pero en su exterior se pueden aplicar imprimaciones cerámicas o composites de matriz cerámica que aislen el calor..
