Es decir, los pilotos deben usar la pista todo el rato. Define luego pista como lo que hay entre las líneas blancas, incluyéndolas y excluye los pianos como parte de la pista. Si ninguna parte del coche está en contacto con la pista, está fuera de la pista.
Y lo último, me parece definitivo, ningún piloto puede deliberadamente abandonar la pista. Ir a saco en una curva y salirse es algo que hacen deliberadamente para ir más rápido.
Por último que Whiting permita incumplir el reglamento me parece patético. Sería análogo a permitir "por este GP" defender posición echando de la pista al rival, o "por este GP" permitir usar alerones flexibles o soplado en frenada.
