Del foro de Autosport. Da gusto ver que hay gente con criterio.
Ron has lied over and over incessantly. I have no idea why people quote him as if he is some holy figure. God knows what really happened in 2007. In Bahrain Alonso was miles off the pace. Alonso has never ever had races where he is light years behind his teammate in performance terms. To be frank neither Alonso or Hamilton come across as honest either. Alonso was used to driving on Michelins and he openly admitted he is struggling with bridgestones. Michael had issues adjusting with Pirelli as well. Now is Rosberg better than Schumacher ? Over time Schumacher had the measure of Rosberg in qualifying.
I think we never saw a true picture of what Alonso was capable of in 2007 and Ron's statement that he was racing Alonso in China summed up how fractious the relationship was. I respect Ron immensely for his achievements but he is a hard man and I cannot imagine for a second he was impartial in his treatment with Alonso. Alonso has a huge ego with his share of shortcomings.Ron said there was no favoritism in Mclaren but he clearly favored Mika. People give me example of Spa 1999 but then I ask them to explain 2000 Hockenheimring. The fastest driver in qualifying used to get preference over pitstops at the time and on sat David out qualified Mika yet in the race Mika was given priority. Same thing happened in Hungary 2007 qualifying. Lewis went against the team strategy.Ron defended Lewis and made sure Alonso gets a grid penalty.
I am a huge fan of both Hamilton & Alonso.
Hamilton has the edge over Alonso in terms of raw speed but overall I feel Alonso is the better more complete driver.Button seems to share this view as well. Alonso is mega at the starts, rarely is off the pace if ever. His mind just seems engaged at all times. One of the most consistent driver on the grid at pumping in fast laps in the race. For years I did not hear him blame the setup the tires only the engine and you cant blame him for that.
I remember an interview with Ross during Suzuka when he was Team Principal at Mercedes. He said Alonso usually outperforms the car on sunday.
Having said that Lewis was mega last weekend in Singapore. At the moment Alonso and Hamilton are the 2 best drivers on the grid

Siempre con Fernando, año tras año.
