Hamilton beat Alonso in 07, sure, but under less than normal circumstances, and by the tiniest margin. Since then (& upto then) Alonso has destroyed all team mates, virtually always outperforming them. Hamilton is a top, top driver, and 2017 could turn out to be his best year, but he's been properly beaten on many occasions by team mates over the years. This has not happened to Fernsndo.
Vettel has huge talent, but he's got a hint of the illuminati about him (who you know, not what you know), he was hammered, completely and utterly by Ricciardo. Some amazing performances during his career, no doubt, but F1 should be embarrassed that he won 4 titles, it spoke more of the regs than the driver. 3 of his titles were as valid as Prosts last in the all conquering Williams. He's no 'great', and certainly no Schumacher.
Neither could he hold a candle to Alonso. Watch Fernando's consistency on skys timing screens (during the next boring race, so the next race then!), his race long consistent speed, tenacity and intelligence are unmatched. The words of his peers and team personnel around the paddock echo this, and Nigel's comments are based on their opinions, together with what he's witnessed himself of Alonso, and set against a lifetime of experience covering F1.
I've watched F1 since the 70s, it's my favourite sport (obsession!) by a long way, I've barely missed a race. I reckon I've seen and
read enough to recognise amazing talent. Until Verstappen came along I've considered Alonso as the greatest driver and natural talent since Senna, until and unless Max makes good on his promise and potential, that view will remain unchanged.

Siempre con Fernando, año tras año.
