DIRECTO: Test Montmelo 2012 -- Dia 4 (Semana 2)
(04-03-2012, 13:13)Truzone escribió: Gary Anderson brutal con el Ferrari:

"I have to admit I don't understand the reasoning behind some of the design features on the Ferrari. At the rear, for example, the bodywork where the exhaust comes out is in the area of the main airflow into what we call the 'coke-bottle', where it sweeps in between the rear wheels. This is a major creator of total downforce, and by placing bodywork there it seems they've thrown that downforce away in chasing the much smaller gains to be had from the exhausts. I hear they have some new bodywork in production to change this. Likewise with the pull-rod front suspension they've adopted. With a more traditional push-rod design, you can tune it to change the weight transfer across the car depending on whether it's in low- or high-speed corners. The pull-rod doesn't have that facility - the only advantage seems to be that it might integrate with the airflow off the front wing a bit better. But that's a gnat's difference compared to losing something more influential."

Dudo mucho que un periodista sepa más que un ingeniero.
