Designer Rory Byrne, who oversaw the cars that made Ferrari the dominant force in F1 in the late 90s and early 2000s, is back with the team.
The South African-born Byrne was Ferrari's chief designer from 1996 to 2006 and under his guidance the Italian outfit netted five World Championships and six Constructors' titles.
Byrne left his role as full-time member of the team at the end of the 2006 season but remained on as a consultant as Ferrari won a further two Constructors' gongs and Kimi Räikkönen took the 2007 Championship.
Ferrari have not tasted success since, but with a host of new regulations coming into play in 2014, the Scuderia appear to have turned to their tried and tested designer in the hope of ending Red Bull's dominance.
Auto Motor und Sport have quoted Byrne as saying that he is "working full steam" on Ferrari's 2014 challenger.
The 69-year-old added that the 2013 challenger, the F138, is a "nice car", but "child's play" in comparison to what is to come.
Esta es la mejor noticia de Ferrari desde 2007!
