Massa pleased with first day of testing
Jerez de la Frontera, 10 February – Felipe Massa was pleased with what had been achieved as he stepped from the cockpit of his F150th Italia at the end of a busy day’s testing at the Andalusian circuit of Jerez de la Frontera. The Brazilian was able to do a lot of running, without the car experiencing any technical failures. Slowing the progress of the programme however were interruptions caused by cars stopping out on track, especially in the afternoon.
The time Felipe set in the morning of 1.20.709 proved to be unbeatable, even in the second part of the day, when the track was clearly slower. It meant he ended the day not just with the prize for the most laps – 101 completed, but also the best performance on the clock. “I am pleased with today,” said Felipe, speaking to ferrari.com. “I was able to run continuously, without losing any valuable time. All those kilometres helped me get to know the car better and especially the tyres, an area where we were able to try different things to those we did in Valencia. The fastest time? It doesn’t mean anything, because we don’t know what trim the other drivers were running.” Today, Felipe’s car, along with all the others, carried a message of support for Robert Kubica. “I am glad Robert is getting better: it was nice that we all had a note for him on our cars and again I wish all the very best.”

Felipe Massa ha marcado el mejor tiempo en la primera jornada de entrenamientos colectivos de Fórmula 1 en el Circuito de Jerez. El brasileño sabe que eso no tiene importancia durante la pretemporada, pero se ha mostrado muy contento al bajarse del Ferrari F150th Italia porque no ha sufrido ninguna averia que le haya impedido rodar.
"Estoy muy contento con el día de hoy. He sido capaz de rodar continuamente, sin perder ningún valioso tiempo", dijo Felipe después de completar 101 vueltas al trazado. "Todos esos kilómetros me han ayudado a conocer mejor el coche y especialmente los neumáticos, un área en la que fuimos capaces de probar cosas diferentes a las de Valencia."
"¿El tiempo más rápido? Esto no quiere decir nada, porque no sabemos con que ajustes han rodado los demás pilotos", aseguró.
Massa no quiso olvidarse de mandarle su apoyo al compareciente Kubica: "Me alegro de que Robert esté cada vez mejor: ha sido bonito que todos tuviéramos un mensaje para él en nuestros coches y de nuevo le deseo todo lo mejor."
