Se va a Mercedes, sustituyendo a Schumacher, que deja el equipo y anunciará hoy su retirada en loa central en Sttugart.
The Brit will replace Michael Schumacher — whose second retirement from F1 will be confirmed by the German car giant at its Stuttgart HQ today.

Hamilton will end a 14-year partnership with his boyhood team after rejecting a £36m deal.

Lewis Hamilton to join Mercedes in $100m move from McLaren

Lewis Hamilton will on Friday bring to an end one of the most controversial and long-running transfer sagas in Formula One history by announcing that he is leaving McLaren, the team he has been with over half his life, for rivals Mercedes in a three-year deal worth an estimated $100 million (£61.6million).

The announcement is almost certain to end the career of the most successful driver in F1, seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, whose return three years ago to the sport he once bestrode like a colossus palpably failed to live up to expectations.

It is not yet clear whether Schumacher will be offered some sort of ambassadorial or management role with the Brackley team.

The Daily Telegraph understands that Mercedes are waiting for their board in Stuttgart to sign off on the new Concorde Agreement, the commercial pact which binds the teams to the sport, before making an official announcement regarding Hamilton. That announcement should arrive today.

Right up until the end the move was kept shrouded in secrecy. McLaren are only understood to have been informed of Hamilton’s decision yesterday, and may hold a press conference of their own this morning, at which they will announce their next move.

There is no doubt, though, that Hamilton’s rejection, particularly after McLaren returned more than once in recent weeks with improved deals, reportedly matching Mercedes’ offer, will come as a bitter blow to the team who nurtured the 27 year-old from young karter to F1 world champion.



McLaren are only understood to have been informed of Hamilton’s decision yesterday, and may hold a press conference of their own this morning, at which they will announce their next move.

Importante personagem do motorsport britânico não apenas confirmou a transferência de Perez, mas também dá como certa a ida do campeão mundial de 2008 para a equipe Mercedes.

Apoiado pelo empresário Carlos Slim, um dos homens mais ricos do mundo, um facilitador para a ida de Sergio Perez para a McLaren é a saída da Vodafone como patrocinadora da equipe ao final desta temporada, o que abriu espaço para um possível acordo com o setor de telecomunicações do grupo de Slim.

UK newspapers Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph are reporting tonight that Lewis Hamilton will be confirmed on Friday as a Mercedes driver from 2013.

In conjunction with that will come news of Michael Schumacher leaving the team – but whether that is for retirement or a swansong elsewhere remains to be seen.

The move will reunite Hamilton with his former karting team mate and F3 rival Nico Rosberg.

The Daily Mail says that he will have a deal worth £15m a year, with bonuses on top. And as has been widely discussed, he will have more freedom to earn from personal sponsorship deals.

While many have been sceptical in recent weeks, a move to Mercedes always seemed like a worthwhile choice for Hamilton – if a little risky.

Although the team’s results this year have been disappointing since the win in China, the potential of the outfit remains huge. Under Ross Brawn’s guidance the stellar technical team of Bob Bell, Aldo Costa and Geoff Willis came together too late to have a proper impact in this season, but it should pay dividends next year, and especially as F1 makes the transition to the turbo era in 2014. Hamilton is undoubtedly convinced that, working with Brawn, he can make the difference.

Si Abuelo, si yo lo doy por hecho, aunque también opino que Ham se puede llevar una desagradable sorpresa con Rosberg. Si este no hace intercambio de cartas con McL.

En cuanto a Perez, me cuesta creer que vaya a McL, por mi corazón Ferrarista, me costaría ver como ferrari deja escapar a un piloto de ese talento que encima esta en su academia de pilotos. Prefiero pensar que tiene un contrato que no debe ser facil de romper.

Quiero pensar que no debe ser tan facil como igualar la oferta. Si no que deben haber unos años en formación por contrato y que Ferrari los está cumpliendo.

Sino... para que leches hacen una academia de pilotos si ni siquiera pueden tomarse el tiempo que necesitan los pilotos para formarse.

Montezemolo lo ha dicho un par de veces, que le gusta Checo, pero aun necesita un poco mas de tiempo de cocción.

Por otro lado, contemplo a Telmex y la salida de Vodafone y todo cuadra, pero me duele creerlo.

Por otro lado, otra posibilidad es que haya una cesion de Ferrari a McLaren para continuar con su formación.. ¿Por que no?...

Es hablar por hablar.

En cualquier caso si Checo se va facil... menuda ***** de contrato el de la drivers academy. No creo que eso lo pueda hacer un piloto RB.

Sauber’s 22 year-old Mexican was known to be top of their wish-list in the event that Hamilton succumbed to Mercedes’ overtures and an announcement could even arrive as early as Friday morning.

A member of the Ferrari academy, Perez has impressed in his two seasons in Formula One to date, his ability to manage his tyres seeing him fly through the field in Malaysia, Canada and most recently Italy, where he drove from 12th on the grid to finish second to Hamilton.

In Singapore last week, Perez denied that he had been approached by the Woking team but made it clear that he was available, insisting his relationship to Ferrari would not count against him.

"I have a nice connection to Ferrari through the Ferrari Academy, but I'm just part of the academy – not part of the Ferrari team,” he said.

“So it doesn't affect [any possible move]. I feel ready to fight for championships at top teams.”

Ya tenemos nuevo Plan Brawn preparado por la maFIA para 2013...
Esto seguramente indica que (Bernie-Todt) le ha asegurado a Mercedes (Brawn)
poder utilizar el DDRS (y su tubería) que metan en el alerón trasero,...
y le han vendido la moto (con datos & $$$$) a Jamelgo.

Muy curioso como colocan diferente la sonda de los tubos Pitot...
Ferrari en la vertical de cockpit .....y Mercedes saliendo del alerón trasero...
y con una instalación como de fontanería, conectado con la instalación de los tubos pitot, en el lateral del alerón..
Ese Alerón debe estar más perforado, y canalizado por dentro que un queso grullere...
